We are a friendly rowing club based in Lower Town harbour, Fishguard and are always keen to welcome new members of all ages and abilities.
We have a variety of boats which members can either row competitively or for fun and fitness. Most of the club’s rowing is done in Celtic Longboats, like those pictured above. These fixed seat boats are just over 7m in length and are crewed with a cox and four rowers and are the boats that compete in the Welsh Sea Rowing league around the Welsh coast.
In addition we have a range of single and double seat boats where the rower uses two oars (sculls). These are useful if you want to get out on the water and can’t get a full crew together for a Celtic or just want to row by yourself. We also have several indoor rowing machines in our clubhouse.
Most of our rowers started as complete beginners and had their introduction to the club by just turning up to one of our weekend rowing sessions. We cater for all ages and abilities – one of our rowers became the World Indoor Rowing Champion in her 90’s. If you think you’d like to try it, more information can be found on our information page (link below).
